The Journey

From wonder to discovery, in seven steps.

Every great scientist follows some version of this loop. There's no rush, no grade, no wrong path. Just the curiosity and the work.

  1. 01

    Observe

    Notice something curious in your everyday life — a leaking tap, a fading flower, a flickering bulb. Carry a small notebook for one week and write down 10 things that made you wonder why.

    💡 Tip: the best questions come from boredom and discomfort.
  2. 02

    Question

    Pick one observation and turn it into a question that starts with How, Why, or What if. Make it specific enough that you could answer it in a week.

    💡 Try: 'Why does the well water taste different in summer?'
  3. 03

    Hypothesize

    Make your best guess at the answer — it's okay to be wrong. A hypothesis is a starting line, not a finish line.

    💡 Format: 'I think ___ because ___.'
  4. 04

    Prototype

    Build the simplest possible version of your test. Use bottles, bricks, string, leaves — whatever's around.

    💡 This is just a rough design!
  5. 05

    Test

    Run your experiment at least three times. Record what you see — even the failures. Especially the failures.

    💡 Photos and short videos work great + a lab notebook.
  6. 06

    Iterate

    Change one thing at a time and try again. Each iteration teaches you something the textbook can't.

    💡 Ask: what's the smallest change with the biggest effect?

    Share

    Tell the story — what you noticed, tried, failed at, and learned. Post it, present it, or send it to us. Your project might spark someone else's.
